Solutions of Augmented reality give phenomenal advantages in the construction industry. Applications of Augmented Reality are able to interpret the physical world in real time in order to project images onto it. We choose this topic because there is no such work in Pakistan. People are not aware about the miracles of Augmented Reality in construction industry. Our application will help people to see how their future home will look like in real world. This technique will give us quality assurance and higher productivity.
This application will take the place of traditional tape measures and total station on ground. We can measure the distances using this smart application. This emerging technology will allow engineers to build the right thing on the right time and helps to improve the different aspects of construction process.
The Augmented Reality (AR) serves a platform that interacts the real-world environment with the objects that are completely perceptual generated by the computer systems using some sensory approaches i.e. auditory, somatosensory, visual, haptic, olfactory etc. AR should not be confused with the virtual reality (VR) because VR re-establishes the environment and replaces it with a fake one, but AR interacts the user’s perception with the real environment.
This project will allow the user to generate or interact with the environment of the real world with the person’s perception that could be some resort, building, house or anything. The main objective of the augmented reality is that it can gather the components of the digital world and visualize them as a three-dimensional model in real time.
The use of AR has become very useful in the digital industry and also in other industries because it enhances the natural environmental situations with the perceptual objects that exist in digital world e.g. the AR helmets that are designed for the workers on the construction sites which help the workers to see the information about the construction sites. Other examples include object recognition and computer vision which help in developing an environment that is digitally mold able.
Furthermore, AR also assembles and parts the implicit information. AR methods are placed either in the real time environment or in those environmental elements that are well formed, for example, displaying the scores on a live video of some match. This combination helps to gain the advantage of both AR and HUD (heads up display) technologies.
