The Alternate of Expensive Recruitment Drives and Why Consuldents Is a Better Alternative
Share
For recruiters today, it seems that committing to a job fair is one of the predominant ways to connect with prospective employees. However, there are obvious disadvantages if your organization is only relying on recruitment drives. We highlight some as follows and then offer you a possible alternative.
No guarantee you chose right:
Even when you recruit someone after an extensive and a tiring regime, chances are you may have made a wrong decision and that your new recruit is a complete misfit to your organization’s culture and values. You cannot judge a book by its cover and that also typically holds true for recruitment processes. Since you don’t have any way of knowing in a ten minutes interview about prospective employee’s work ethics, character traits or attitude towards peers and colleagues, it becomes a tad more difficult to assess someone perfectly.
Inefficient:
In recruitment drives, there is every possibility that you miss out on great talent because of the number of candidates you meet in a day. Also, you cannot judge someone’s true potential in a 10 minutes meeting where you have to introduce yourself, familiarize candidate with your company and judge if the candidate sitting before you is a right fit for your organization. Even if you do find a candidate you think fits the bill, you only have a few minutes to discuss the position and the role you have in mind for him/her.
Also, a lot of planning is needed if you are participating in a job fair. You need to set up a booth, have promotional material handy and brochures ready for marketing. You also need to devise an action plan with your team members so you can interview hundreds of hopeful graduates coming your way.
High Advertising Cost:
You cannot simply rely on the word of mouth advertising for recruitment drives. There is a possibility that the drive needs to be advertised across universities through different flyers and posters but to make it a success and attract good candidates, it is important to advertise through all channels for e.g. social media marketing, newspapers, radio etc. which is often a costly endeavor. The money that is spent on advertising takes its toll on a company’s recruitment budget.
Overwhelming:
If you are a top tier company, recruitment drives can be overwhelming. A team of six or seven individuals generally have to scan through hundreds of applicants in a day. Your company representative is exhausted by the end of the process and may often not remember every candidate he/she interviewed. The administrative work load is also immense. You have to scan through hundreds of resumes, input contact details, assess and call right candidates for interviews.
An Alternative: Consuldents:
Here is an alternative, what if we suggest a platform where organizations can meet top notch students who are driven, passionate, technically sound and are willing to jump start their careers with you?
