United World Colleges (UWC) Scholarships

UWC offers 100 scholarships for Pakistani students to enter UWC schools and colleges every year to pursue an International Baccalaureate Diploma with a special emphasis on female students from underprivileged backgrounds. Their basic eligibility criteria include Matric or O-Levels or equivalent Aga Khan Board Exams, or First Year Intermediate. A full scholarship includes tuition, boarding fees, academic expenses, travel cost, and stipend for students.

Partial scholarships are also available and will be granted based on student’s financial need. Students will be selected on merit, considering the criteria of the scholarships, the educational standard of 10th or 11th grade students and the attributes required for a student to succeed in UWC. Selection process includes various elements, including written applications, group work, and interviews.

LUMS National Outreach Program (NOP)

LUMS NOP is one of Pakistan’s most prestigious scholarship programs. The scholarship coverage includes admission / annual charges, tuition, hostel accommodation, living and books allowance. Applicants should apply to this program after clearing their Matriculation exam (at least 80% marks in matriculation) while they are enrolled in the first year of Intermediate/A-Level.

Institute of Business Administration (IBA) – National Talent Hunt Program

IBA Karachi ranks amongst the best business schools in the country and constantly features among the top two institution in business and strategy. The NTHP covers a fully funded program that selects, grooms and prepares talented students from the less privileged areas of Baluchistan, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA and Gilgit Baltistan, for the comprehensive IBA admission process to enter BBA/BS programs.

Eligibility Criteria: Matric students who have secured 80% or above in their Matric examination in the preceding year; HSC – Level 1 students who have secured 75% or above in the HSSC-Level 1 examination in the preceding year, and belong to underprivileged backgrounds.

Aga Khan University

It is the policy of the Aga Khan University to offer admission to its academic programs offered in Pakistan on a needs-blind basis. Currently, financial assistance is awarded in the form of a combination of grant-in-aid and student loan to the following programs offered in Pakistan. ​

The Student Loan portion of Financial Assistance is interest free with an annual administrative charge of 5% levied from the time of the award of the student loan and is payable after graduation along with loan repayments.

The grant-in-aid portion of financial assistance is not repayable.

The salient features of the program include:

BScN (4-year program) Sponsorship

  • Guaranteed Job (upon successful completion of hospital selection process)

MBBS (5-year) program sponsorship

  • Scholarships for Meritorious Academic Performance from 3rd Year to top 15 % of the students
  • For graduates who continue to study or work at AKU after graduation, AKU offers a 50% waiver on the loan amount for that particular year.

Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI)

The Institute provides financial assistance in form of interest-free loans subject to nominal administrative charges. Those who apply for financial assistance will be informed at the time of admission whether or not their request has been acceded to. An applicant who has secured admission on basis of merit but whose request for financial assistance is not approved would be admitted on payment of full tuition fee. The Financial Loan is returnable in easy six-monthly installments from one year after completion of graduation. Chartered Accountant Talent Program

ICAP offers fully funded scholarships for eligible candidates.

Eligibility criteria: Must have cleared HSC/FSc/ICOM/FA/ICS in the previous year; must be among top 20 students of the respective board; and must be a permanent Pakistani resident.

Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture

Financial assistance scheme: the financial assistance schemes involves the parent or guardian giving a written guarantee that the funds loaned will start being repaid 6 months after the graduation of the student. This scheme is for those who have a sufficient income stream but there may be a temporary difficulty as more than one child is receiving higher education or there may have been a momentary hardship in the family.

The school also offers scholarships to those individuals whose family income is insufficient or where it is felt that repayment after one year of graduation of the student is not possible. Scholarship of up to a maximum of 75% of the tuition fee can be awarded.

  • The student has to maintain a certain level of academic performance (GPA of 2.30 in Foundation Year and 2.50 in rest of the years) to continue availing Financial Assistance and/or Scholarship.
  • It is the discretion of Award Committee (Interview Panel) to decide the percentage assistance (up to a maximum of 75% of the tuition fee) as Financial Assistance or Scholarship.

Pakistan Scottish scholarship scheme 2017-18

Scottish Government is providing scholarship opportunities for young women from disadvantaged backgrounds to study at Master’s Level in Pakistani Universities. This scheme is helping women in Pakistan achieve their potential and ambitions, to build a secure future for themselves and their families. British Council Pakistan will administer the scheme in Pakistan and directly coordinate with the selected scholars and universities.
